  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm whole milk (105-115°F)
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (reserve some for brushing)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • For the Cinnamon Honey Butter: ¼ cup softened unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoons honey, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm water and a tablespoon of sugar; let it foam.
  2. 2. In a bowl, whisk warmed milk, melted butter (reserve some), remaining sugar, salt, and egg.
  3. 3. Gradually add sifted bread flour to the wet mixture until sticky yet manageable.
  4. 4. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth; let rise in a warm place until doubled (1-2 hours).
  5. 5. Shape into rolls and place on a greased sheet; let rise again for another 30-45 minutes.
  6. 6. Preheat oven to 350°F and brush rolls with melted butter before baking for about 15 minutes or golden brown.
  7. 7. Prepare the cinnamon honey butter by mixing all ingredients until smooth.
